Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being recognised as a transformative force in healthcare globally, and its potential impact on the Indian healthcare sector is particularly significant. India, with its diverse population and complex healthcare challenges, stands to benefit immensely from AI-driven innovations. This paper examines the current state of AI adoption in Indian healthcare, highlighting its applications in diagnostics, personalised medicine, and administrative efficiency. Despite its promise, the implementation of AI in India faces considerable challenges, including data quality, ethical concerns, and infrastructural limitations. By exploring these challenges and identifying potential solutions, this study underscores the critical role AI can play in improving healthcare outcomes in India. The paper concludes by discussing the prospects of AI in Indian healthcare, emphasising the importance of government initiatives, collaborative efforts, and the integration of emerging technologies to fully realise AI potential in this sector.
