Abstract
This article reviews a social policy course for graduate students using film for framing social justice issues. Literature on social work suggests a discrepancy between students understanding of how international social problems impact them or their practice challenges. The aim of this paper is to contribute to strengthening the cognitive and affective problem solving experience of social work students education with global topics of relevance for community and social change-oriented practice. Qualitative findings point to the gradual internalization of social change as a complex process and increased understanding and connection to the scope of practice challenges and social problems.
