Abstract
Based on the findings of India’s 2011 Census, it was observed that the unemployment rate for individuals classified as persons with disabilities (PwD) stood at 64 percent, in contrast to a rate of 9.1 percent for those not falling under the category. Those with disabilities often find themselves employed in skillbased positions, mostly due to their lower educational attainments. The selection of disabled applicants impeded by a multitude of barriers, specific disabilities being one of them. There is a wide range of occupational positions where the presence of a disability does not impede
job performance. This study constructs a comprehensive skills matrix for persons with disabilities in the hotel industry.
